BACLT launches Berkeley’s 1st Small Sites Pilot with 100-year Baptist Church to Fight Displacement

BACLT obtained a $950,000 loan for our Stuart Street Apartments project in partnership with the McGee Avenue Baptist Church. This low interest and long-term loan from the City will make this co-op of 8 units into permanently affordable housing for those of low and moderate income. Soaring housing costs and intensifying gentrification have led to massive displacement of the African American community in Berkeley.
